  1. Windows 10 System Storage not displaying drives.

I honestly have no idea what that page is called, but when I want to change save locations, none of my drives show up. It worked before but now it just doesn't want to display anything sadly. Here are a few pictures of what I am talking about.

My drives wont show up in this section either...

The thing is though, they display properly in the "This PC" Section so I know they are plugged in correctly.

  2. reinstalling Windows 10 to reconfigure drives/folders

I just bought a laptop PC (from Microsoft Store) with Windows 10 Home preinstalled. The system comes with a SSD system drive and a large HDD for storage, but the preinstall is set up with the user profiles folder also on the system drive. I need to do
a fresh install of Windows 10 to move the users folder to the storage drive. Is there a way to do this?

  3. How can I find what was uploaded or downloaded on my computer?

    Hi Dave,

    One last question, I think.....

I have 2 external hard drives connected to my PC, Win 10 ver 1709 displays the storage space on my G:\drive but not on my F:\ drive. How can I have the storage space displayed on my F:\drive when I click on "This PC"?

    Thank You Dave,

    Paul

When modern methods fail, we turn back to good old ways... Open your user folder (the one showing Documents, Music, Pictures etc). Right-click on the folder you want to relocate and select Properties. Then go to the Location tab. Here you can change it from C:\users\username\... to another folder. I'm not sure if you can create a new folder from the wizard, but you could create it beforehand. Once you relocate the folder, the default save location for the respective files will be the new location. Your old data are not automatically copied. If you need them at the new location, just move them there. I have done it for a friend who had a small SSD. I freed space by relocating all user folders to a second larger disk. To only disadvantage is that you cannot upgrade Windows to a newer version unless you restore the folders to their original place (not necessary to also copy the data). You can even relocate the default Programs Files folder, but this risks having problems with already installed applications so I don't recommend it.

I'm having the exact same issue. Windows Explorer recognizes all of my harddrives; however, within Settings > System > Apps & features and Storage, one of my drives doesn't show up.

Coincidentally, the same drive is listed as having 100% free space when I know for a fact it isn't.

Anyone know a solution to either of these problems?

Windows 10 System Storage not displaying drives.

Hi, My External HardDrive was not being seen through my USB 3.0 port when moving from Windows 7 to 10.
It turned out that the Generic Driver for the USB 3.0 card Was Not Working.

    "HTTP;//WWW.VIA-LABS.COM/PRODUCT_SHOW.PHP?ID=51" (REMOVE QUOTE AND SHIFT
    TO lower case...)

Is The Manufacturer's Drivers for windows 7, 8, & 8.1. They also work on windows 10.
Downloading, UnZipping with File Explorer in windows 10, then running the installation package
installs the Manufacturer's drivers, and the device's in the USB 3.0 port are now seen and work
    at USB 3.0 speed.

Same thing. I tried relocating the folders, initializing the folders, and enabling system protection. Maybe the problem is related to the existence of a solid state drive?

Cannot tell for sure, I don't own an SSD yet, but it sounds rather weird. Also I don't have USB 3.0 ports in my system, but I can guess the generic drivers don't work there, you have to install latest manufacturer's drivers. If unsure, use Aida64 to identify them. You can also use automatic driver solutions such as Snappy Driver or Driver Pack, although I use them as a last resort. I prefer to always manually identifying my drivers and install them to make sure I install the latest official driver and not just any available driver can make the device work.

Hey, I don't know if you've solved this, but what worked for me is changin the drive letters around on the drives. Then they showed up.

Right click the start menu - Go to Dist management - right click on the drive that's not showin up and select "change drive letters and paths" then change it up. They should show up after you do that in Storage. Hope that works for you!

I have 5 physical hard drives and at least 10 logical drives and only 5 logical drives show up under the settings local storage. I need ALL of them to show up.
They do show up under Windows Explorer but not under the Settings for local storage.
Not sure if it matters but I also have 7 network drives connected.
This appears to be a bug in Windows 10.

I have seen in older Windows versions that connected network drives (assigned a drive letter) could make the local drives not show in Windows Explorer if by mistake an existing drive letter was assigned to the network drive. But this should not be an issue for Windows 7 and newer. Also I have seen some cases that the partition (logical volume) is there but not assigned any drive letter. Once you add a drive letter in Disk Manager, as explained in the previous post, you can use the partition.
