Windows 10: Windows 10 Taskbar Calendar won't open, KernelBase.DLL error

As of a couple days ago, the Taskbar Calendar the one that pops up when you click the date/time doesn't open anymore. Clicking the date/time does nothing. However, looking in Event Viewer, it does generate an event every time I try to open the taskbar calendarointing to KERNELBASE.DLL as the issue. I did a bit of searching on this, with other people having similar issues but with other programs/apps and I tried to take the KernelBase.DLL from another Win10 installation, but I can't remove the one that's on my system; it just keeps saying that a program is using it. Applications won`t maximize

Following a W10 update, applications only open as minimised on the taskbar and won`t maximize. I have tried closing them minimised but no good. Can anyone help ? thanks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files.
