  1. Windows 10 Taskbar Changes Reset with Each Login

I have a new Windows 10 work computer that I am trying to customize. I am not an admin on this computer. So here is my issue. When I make taskbar changes such as Pin / Unpin; hide Cortana, create new Taskbar Toolbars, there changes are all gone the next time I log into Windows.

Shouldn't I be able to save changes like these even though I am not an Admin? Is there a way to fix this?

    :)

  2. Changing the taskbar color to white in Windows 10

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

In Windows 10 there is no option for changing the color to white but you can change it to different colors. To change the color of the task bar I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • In the search box, type settings.
    • Then select personalization.
    • Click on color option on the left side.
    • You will find an option called “show color on start, taskbar and start icon”.
    • You need to on the option and then you can change the color accordingly.
Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

Windows 10 Taskbar Changes Reset with Each Login

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
