Hi, I have problems with my Windows 10 Installation where my OS thinks the speed of my network is 2.5KB/s, while it's about 100MB/s. Apps refuse to work under these conditions, and some programs that use network in the background and quickly close then like Microsoft.Sharepoint.exe are stuck running for at least 5,000 times longer than they normally should. I tried restarting 2 times, and even used arp -a in the command line, nothing helped. I also ran the Windows Network Diagnostic, nothing worked. And, on my phone or old laptop, the network runs just smoothly without any issues. Also, I A

Windows 10 download speed issues

Try this method:

First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).

locate and select “Update and Security“.

in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.

In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.

Turn off Updates from more than one place.

Your system will not work as a seeder for other Windows 10 users. It will give sudden boast to your Slow internet speed.

1. Close the Peer to Peer Update Process on Your PC to Fix Slow Internet after Windows 10 Update

Step 1. Click Start menu and then type Settings to open it.

2. Adjust the Internet Bandwidth Settings

Step 1. Press Windows shortcut keys Win + R to open Run dialog box.

Step 3. Give permissions. A pop-up window will open with title of Group Policy.

Windows Auto-Tuning level to improve the internet speed for the Windows 10 update. Use administrator privileges to process the following steps.

Step 1. Press Win + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2. Type the command netsh interface tcp show global in the window.

Step 3. Check for Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level and if it is normal, you will need to disable it.

Step 4. Type the command netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled to disable it.

You can perform an internet speed test to see whether those adjustments improve your internet speed or not. If not, you can re-enable the Window Auto-Tuning level by typing the command netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal in the Command Prompt (Admin).

I tried this last night and now my laptop is worse. Your first suggestion "choose how updates are delivered" isn't even an option. Hopefully the 1908 update will fix this problem that microsoft caused. Sadly my internet connection keeps disappearing so downloading
and installing that update isn't really working. Microsoft and their mistake is pointing me towards having to pay someone to come in and fix it. Not happy with Mr Gates right now.

Puzzling Internet Speed

Hi All,
Thanks for all your replies. It would appear that the result I'm getting in Edge (the first on the list) is false. Could it be that this is measuring the speed from the router to the pc rather than the actual internet speed. I have tried Ookla and like the fact that you can keep a record I'll look into that.
