Windows 10: Windows 10 throttling Internet download speeds

My Dell 7386 laptop with an Intel AX200 has much slower download speeds than are available on two different Samsung Galaxy S10e cellphones. All devices are connected via Wi-Fi to a TP-Link AX6000 router. The router's connection to the ISP tests out at a 501 Mbps download speed and a 500 Mbps upload speed. The S10e cell phones test out at a download speed of 472.8 Mbps and 482.8 Mbps, and upload speeds of 147.3 Mbps and 168.8 Mbps. The laptop tests out at a download speed of 113.3 Mbps and an upload speed of 296.5 Mbps. They are all connected to the router on the 5 GHz radio using the AX protocol. All devices are in the same room, with the laptop being a couple of feet closer to the router than the cell phones. Shifting positions of the devices in the room has no impact on the speed tests. The AX200 has driver version 21.90.3.2. Both the router and the AX200 show the laptop is connected to the router at an average speed of 865.7 Mbps. Given these parameters, it would seem the issue is with Windows 10 Home. All current Windows 10 updates are installed. Any recommendations for resolving this problem?

The speed above is the same as it was with Windows 7. If I remove my router the Download will jump to 110

Windows 10 appears to throttle internet speed.

The link tested is

It will start out at 20MB/s, then throttle down to just 200KB/s. !!!! It will sit at this superslow speed for a while, then climb up later, only to throttle down super slow again.
This is a dedicated server on a gigabit line.

At home, my 100mbps line holds the download steady at 100mbps. No speed dip.

I know very little about how Windows controls transfer speeds, but I have read about Windows auto adjusting the tcp window and such.

It seems the netsh settings are helping and hurting.


Also, I have 10mbps upload speed at home, and when I try to upload to my 1gbps server, the speed is throttled at 1.5mbps.
It starts at 10mbps, then quickly throttles.


Whatever is working behind the scenes seems to be contributing to the server's slow download speed, and my slow upload from home.

If I disable auto-tuning, speeds are even worse.
The http server goes from maxing out my 100mbps line, to <10mbps.
So outbound speeds from the server suffer, and inbound speeds to the server still suffer.

Windows 10 download speed issues

Try this method:

• First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).
• locate and select “Update and Security“.
• in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.
• In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.
• Turn off Updates from more than one place.

Your system will not work as a seeder for other Windows 10 users. It will give sudden boast to your Slow internet speed.
