  1. Windows 10 to be the most widely installed version ever

Windows 10 is set to be Microsoft's most successful operating system(OS) ever.
The prediction comes from technology marketing company Gartner, which said that Windows 10's popularity is being driven by Microsoft's offer of a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8 user's.
Gartner also said that 50 per cent of businesses worldwide will be running Windows 10 by January 2017.
If this happens, the early success of Windows 10 would trump even that enjoyed by Windows 7, which launched in October 2009.
Businesses are preparing to move on from Windows 7, aware that Microsoft will end support for the OS in January 2020. Microsoft's latest estimates, released in October, indicates that Windows 10 is now running on 120 million computers worldwide.
Earlier this year Gartner identified another consequence of Windows 10 - a slow down in global PC sales. Analysts said that for the third quarter of 2015 PC sales were 7.7 per cent lower than in the same quarter in 2014. This was attributed in part to people upgrading their existing PCs to Windows 10 for free, rather than buying a new computer containing the OS.

Windows 10 must be the most "Unready O/S" ever to be released

I have had Windows 10 Pro upgrade installed on my newly built system for about a week. I must say, this has to be the worst version of all the Windows that I have by far ever experienced. I started with MS Windows way back with v2.0 and before that, it was
DOS v2.0 ~ v6.20. By far, this has to be the most 'unready' operating system I have ever used. On each machine that I have installed the upgrade or the full install version of Window 10, there have been multitudes of issues observed and these are just the
    basics.

First, let me give you an idea of what hardware components the upgrade Windows 10 Pro is installed

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 900D Tower

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME, Extended ATX x99 Motherboard , LGA 2011-V3 Socket, DDR4 3300Mhz+(OC)

    CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0GHz LGA 2011-v3 Processor

GPU: EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 GDDR5 Graphics Card

    Memory: DDR4 - 8 X 8GB Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum Series 64GB P/N: CMD64GX4M8A2400C14

RAM Cooler: 2 X Corsair Dominator Airflow Platinum LED fan

PSU: Corsair AX1500i 1500 Watts ATX

Drv SSD: 2 X Intel 400GB 750 Series Solid State Drive PCIe

    Drv HDD: 6 X Seagate 6TB Desktop HDD (STBD6000100)

Burners: 2 X LG 16X Blu-Ray M-Disc CD DVD BDXL BD Burner Drive

Rat: MX Master Wireless Mouse (910-004337)

Monitor: Sony KDL50W800B Smart LED TV/Monitor

LWR Fans: 4 X Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fans

    KB: Logitech K800 keyboard

    AUDIO: Logitech 7.1 SoundSystem Z906

    O/S: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit (non-OEM) upgraded to Windows 10 Pro x64

Keyboard: Logitech Wireless Illuminated Backlit Keys Keyboard K800 w/ Receiver - Black

    Headset: Sades SA-738

As noted from the list above, the OS is installed on fairly new released components that is relevant to the over all complaint. Now, I agree, there will always be little tweaks, niches, possibly a driver update here and there, but in this case, I am beginning
to wonder if Microsoft actually did any partnering with any of the major game players because their stuff is hardly working with Windows 10 Pro. Maybe I am over exaggerating a bit, but still... all and all, something should be rock solid before a GA. Greed?

With this system, I am experiencing fault audio connection. I have a Logitech 5.1 surround sound z906 system and as at the time of this entry, only 2 channel can be heard. The rest, subwoofer, center and both read channels are dead. Taken the same audio
system, plug it into a Windows 8.1 Pro x64, works great, even the DTS works. But attempting to do more than 2 channel audio is a pipe dream at best.

Now in saying all that, for you users out there, don't attempt to uninstall Realtek HD Audio software, because if you do, you will play havoc to get it reinstalled again. After uninstalling Realtek audio software, when trying to reinstall the software, the
install wizard would continuously repeat the install and then uninstall, install and uninstall, over and over. Finally, I simply gave up and did a fully system backup recover. Thank God Acronis works with Windows 10. Otherwise, I'll be loading some other OS
    rather than Windows 10.

Many of the applications that were previous install no longer loads. I have DVDFab installed and it will not load. The workaround was to use Revo to uninstall DVDFab and reinstall the app before it would work.

MS Office seems to be okay with Windows 10 and so is Nero but I haven't ventured yet to start any other apps.

Now on another foot. After 8 times to upgrade Windows 10 on my Surface Pro, it finally successfully upgraded, but it too has issues that Microsoft had not tested before making this version of Windows 10 a GA (10240).

Did you know that Microsoft Wedge mouse will not work with the Surface Pro? Well, it is try. Microsoft has bellied up the table and admitted there is a problem with using the wedge mouse. No kidding Microsoft? Did anyone bother to test any of the hardware
devices before going GA? What kind of QA group are you using these days?

It use to be back in the day, when Microsoft released a software package, you could bet it was at least 95% ready to rock and roll, but this package lacks stamina in the worst degree.

Sorry Microsoft, but you are getting a -D (minus D) this time. In other words, 2 out of 5 stars should Microsoft be warded for this release. No good, not good at all.

I have plenty more to vent about, but for now, I'm done. No need to keep begging Microsoft to do things right, because it ain't gonna get done.

Now I know why Windows 10 is free... (things that make you go, Hmmmmmmm...)

    Good luck to us all...

    Hi there

not that RUBBISH GARTNER again. Any of their predictions would be just as likely as with Random Guessing.

In any case -- FREE Upgrades from W7/W8 (for a year) and a successful Insider preview -- it's obvious -- a decent OS for FREE --a BABY could have worked out what that ridiculous Gartner is mouthing again.

As soon as I see Gartner mentioned == I usually IGNORE the rest of the rubbish that follows.

    Cheers
