    Hi JoeM24,

    Honestly, Microsoft is phasing out the Media Player application, it has been around a long time, but it has had its day.

    Windows 10 contains the successor to Windows Media Player - Groove Music, that is the preferred Music App in Windows 10 - though a lot of us are not convinced . . .

    If you want to repair Windows Media Player:

    Open Control Panel - Programs And Features

    On the left, click 'Turn Windows Features on or off'

    Under Media Features, uncheck Windows Media Player

    Restart your PC

    Then go back into Control Panel and check the box beside Windows Media Player to re-install it . . .

    Another Option is to download and install VLC Player, which is the most popular Free Media Player:

    Nice feature as it floats on the lock screen, sign-in screen, etc.
    I would assume tablets could invoke it with the volume button.

    Seen this mentioned before, hopefully some type of merge between xbox music and wmp is in the works

    Be nice to have one media app instead of many of them

    *although for them to do this it would require the apps to be compatible with xbox/WP/web, so not sure if it would be possible

    Meh, not necessary, for me. I only use foobar2000 for music, does all I need.
    Im looking forward to the next build, hoping that I'll be able to use mpc-hc once again.
