    Windows 10 too large?


    Hey everyone, had a problem and was hoping for advice.

    I have a machine that runs with a rather small drive in use for the OS install itself, something that should be fixed but is on me and I haven't taken time to do it. That said by small, I mean it's 120GB, so small only by today's standards.

    My problem is every few weeks it seems I have to find smaller and more varied files to delete as my installation of Windows grows in size very often. Is there anything I can do to limit or mitigate the size of the install itself?

    Currently, the windows directory on my PC takes up 29GB, along with a further 18GB in "Windows Apps" (which I've never downloaded, don't want, but don't seem to be able to remove, things like Disney Magic Kingdoms and such, I've tried removing them in the past but they always seem to return to the PC with an Internet connection), this means Windows and windows apps are taking up 37GB (50GB+ if you're counting hibernation and page files) of storage. The purpose of this thread is _not_ to complain, but that does seem like a very excessive amount of space for an OS. Any tips or advice?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
