Windows 10: Windows 10 trying to force through update to potentially incompatible version

Hello,I have recently upgraded a rather old setup to Windows 10. My hardware being not the freshest on the market, I've read on a few forums online to see if any users would have complained about compatibility issues with similar setups, and it turned out my motherboard would probably struggle with versions 1709 and beyond.With that in mind I have installed Windows 10 Home Edition, version 1703. No compatibility issues whatsoever, everything running just fine. Except that starting from last Saturday, Windows has been trying to force through an update to version 22H2 and regularly nags me with

Windows 10 nVidia Driver Question

With the Nov Update, Windows 10 became mature enough to give another try. Build 10586 (version 1511) runs great, feels snappy, and has no obvious problems. However, I'm concerned with this version's insistence on loading nVidia's 353.54 driver, which is dated July 13 2015, 4 months ago. On their US website they list all the new drivers as being compatible with Windows 10, (such as 358.91), but they won't load (installer says incompatible with this version of Windows, could find no compatible hardware...). The 353.54 driver runs games without any problems, but why is it taking so long to for nVidia to update this driver? Is it my 780 Ti that's incompatible or is it Windows 10?

It's a weird software problem I guess. Try GeForce Experience to upgrade it, maybe it works. I have a 780 Ti too and have the newest driver in Win 8.1, installed via GF Experience.

 

Windows 10 forced download

I actually had a client call yesterday with an email problem. when I tried walking him through some steps, he says "Yeah, I don't see that there, but I think it's because it's updated to windows 10. It did that a few weeks ago. I came back in on Monday, and it said Welcome to Windows 10"..... I think I'd throw the computer out the window.
