    From what I've read, that is commonly an indication of not enough free space for the upgrade. How much free space do you have on the operating system partition?

    I got it guys, i put it on a usb drive and did a clean install right off of the USB stick.

    Yes by checking properties of My Computer.

    Or you can run this command slmgr /xpr in command prompt.

    It does say windows is activated in the system files at the bottom.

    I did take a picture of the product id and it does differ from when i was on windows 8.

    Even the command prompt way is also telling me it is activated.
