Windows 10: Windows 10 "Type here to search" not working properly

Hello,Today when I went to type in the "Type here to search" bar, it wouldn't work. Much less, even open. When I press the Windows logo, it loads like it usually does, but the search bar still doesn't work. I've tried scanning for viruses, looking at other questions, and using TONS of different malware finders. I'm lost as to where to go from here, so if anybody knows a solution, could you help me out?

Step 1: Restart the Service and check if it helps.

Step 2: Run the
Search and Indexing troubleshooter.

I suggest you to run the search and indexing troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

  Right click on the Start button and click on
  Control Panel.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to start the Windows Search Service.

Follow the below steps:

    Search for Windows Search.
    
  • 
    Double click on Windows Search and click on
    Start button.

    Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 3:

I suggest you to manually select the location in the Indexing options and check.

Follow the below steps:

  Modify button.

  Under Change selected locations check mark all the locations.

my taskbar search is working sporadically

My taskbar search bar is working some of the time. For example, if I type in "TaskMgr", it will list taskmgr, and when I click on it, it opens my Task Manager, as expected.

But if I type in a file name or an app, like WinMerge, it will list them properly in the Search list, but if I click on them, either nothing happens or it takes me to the root window of File Explorer, instead of to the file or the app.

Any ideas?
