Windows 10: Windows 10 unresponsive outside of corp LAN

I've an issue with Windows 10, it behaves strange,

all works fine when the laptop (domain joined) remains in the corp LAN, but when I switch over to the guest WiFi, it becomes unresponsive,

search works, you can type e.g. cmd and run it, but nothing happens, the same with all other components, powershell, control panel, browser, windows explorer etc, everything comes back normal once you switch back from Guest WiFi to the corp one.


there are no offline files, no work folders, no onedrive, no redirected folders, no profile roaming.


any clues?

Good LAN party games?

Most of my suggestions have already been listed.

However, I found Swat4 to actually be a pretty fun LAN game, especially at smaller LAN parties.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

suddenly cannot ping outside lan

Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

I appreciate the efforts which you took to get the issue fixed.

Method 1: Update Network Adapter.

Follow the steps to update the Network Adapter drivers:

• Press Windows key + X key and click
  Device Manager.
• Expand the Network Adapter.
• Right-click on the Network Adapter and click on
  Properties.
• Go to Driver tab and select Update.
• Restart the computer and check.

Method 2: Reset TCP/IP.

Please follow the steps below:

1. On the Search bar type “cmd” and click
ctrl + shift + Enter to open the Elevated Command Prompt.

a. To Reset WINSOCK entries, type netsh winsock reset catalog and click Enter.

b. To Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack, type netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
and click Enter
c. To Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack, type netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
and click Enter.

Please revert if you face any issues with pinging address outside the LAN.
