Windows 10: Windows 10 update 10.0.17738.1000 (RS5_RELEASE) has failed for over 2 weeks

For over two weeks, the windows 10 update for insider preview 10.0.17738.1000 (RS5_RELEASE) has failed every night with my computer (an Acer Aspire All-in-One series) rebooting for no apparent reason, and now it's just as frustrating as it was when Windows first came out. Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.17713.1002 (rs5_release) was able to install on July 30th, but for the past 2 weeks, or should I say, past month, I have had no luck with Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.17738.1000 (RS5_RELEASE) to install on my computer. It says, Failed to install on ‎8/‎24/‎2018 - 0x80240034. And then this, Failed to install on ‎8/‎25/‎2018 - 0x80240034. And then again, Failed to install on ‎8/‎29/‎2018 - 0x80240034. For some reason, it keeps referencing error code #0x80240034. Any idea what this means? If I don't get this working in the next week or so, I'm opting out of the Insiders Program.

Windows 10 forced download

I actually had a client call yesterday with an email problem. when I tried walking him through some steps, he says "Yeah, I don't see that there, but I think it's because it's updated to windows 10. It did that a few weeks ago. I came back in on Monday, and it said Welcome to Windows 10"..... I think I'd throw the computer out the window.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
