Windows 10: Windows 10 Update 1903 stuck at 48% with laptop fan stopped

Hi all,


I was installing Update 1903 from 1809.


From 0-30%, everything was working great with laptop fan speeding fast.


However after only 1 restart, the progress go from 31-48% with laptop fan not even spinning for at least 2 hours.


Luckily my aircon was on as i take a nap, upon waking up my laptop is hot like oven and still stuck at 48%.


I force power off the laptop, Windows manage to roll back to 1809 without any issues.


Hence was it the problem here?

Update to Windows 10 version 1903 stuck at 48%

Hi I have a customer's Acer Aspire E1-572G laptop that crashed overnight doing the 1903 update. So I took it back to try to do it for her since she needs the laptop for work.

This is a standalone Workgroup laptop and not connected to a domain.

I have been trying for days to upgrade this laptop to Windows to version 1903.

The update downloads to 100% and then the laptop reboots to install 1903.

Nothing external is plugged in.

It consistently freezes at 48%.

There is a single C partition so nothing out of the ordinary.

The spinning circle stops.

I have left it alone overnight but nothing changes.

I have used the Windows 10 update troubleshooter.

I have uninstalled all third party apps other than Office 2016.

I have done a disk cleanup to clear out left over files

Currently it is on 1803 so has missed the 1809 upgrade.

I have tried downloading the update through the update option as well as using the media creation tool.

However with a USB stick plugged in I get the not able to upgrade error message because an external drive is plugged in!

I don't want to do a clean install because I don't have the reg key for my Office 2016. (Jellybean can't find the key).

Anyone else with this issue and managed to fix it please?

 

Windows 10 update from 1809 to 1903 stuck in 48%





I got a notification in my laptop to update my windows 10 1809 to 1903. Then I proceed to update my windows and after several minutes it ask me to restart the laptop to complete the update. But unfortunately, after 4 hours it stuck in 48% and there is no
sign that update process is running.

what should I do? i don’t want get any nightmare anymore like when i update my windows from 1803 to 1809 (at that time it caused BSOD and I need to reinstall windows)

my laptop spesification:

brand: samsung NP370R4V

processor: Intel I5 3210M

memory: 8GB

graphic card: Radeon 8570 & Intel HD 4000

storage: SSD 512GB

 

Windows 10 Update 1903 Restarts at 48%

I have been trying to install update 1903 for two days now and it has restarted at 48% every time, but will not continue with the updates once the machine comes back on. It gets stuck at a black screen and will stay there until I shut down the computer.

Any ideas?
