    Windows 10 Update 2004 breaks Snipping Tool


    Right after Microsoft Update completed installation and machine rebooted. Tried to use the regular Snipping Tool.

    The screen blanks out then reappears with the tool open.

    Click on "NEW" and the screen blanks to black then returns with a solid gray screen as an overlay. You can not see anything underneath it. If you arbitrarily select anyplace on the grey screen the snippet is solid black.


    Yesterday before the upgrade the tool was working fine.

    Now I have to resort going back to Alt + Print Screen to capture screen items and crop them in Paint the old fashion way.

    I am NOT a fan of this Windows Update.

    Windows 10 Snipping Tool on Windows 7

    All it is is one extra step beyond what is native to windows 10. Yes, technically it would be easier to have the functionality of print built in to the Windows 7 version, but you just have to save it ,and right click on it ,and print.

    As far as getting the windows 10 version into windows7. I know there was a way to get the old winpaint, so maybe there's a way to get the snipping tool into 10, I don't know.

    im curious if i could compress, and upload the application to this post? 7zip doesnt seem to be allowed
