Windows 10: Windows 10 Update 2004 is a Pain to install

I'm currently on Windows 10 update 1909 and was recently prompted by Windows Update to update to version 2004. The update failed(for whatever reason) and so I decided to try to troubleshoot and force the update. I tried using the windows update assistant tool(which said my device was compatible with the new update) and after trying to update, the update froze at 30 percent. I even tried this leaving it all night thinking that I just wasn't being patient enough.

I then decided to do some digging and given the suggestions I tried deleting the windows update cache and then performing the update, and again was met with the same result. The update hung up at 30 percent yet again.

I then noticed that people were suggesting trying to use the Media Creation tool to perform the update by selecting "Upgrade" as the option and keeping my files. This, yet again, yielded the same result.

I tried using the Setup Diagnostic tool to maybe see if I could find what's going wrong, but a cursory search of the logs yielded nothing useful. A link to my logs can be found here

NOTE: I also updated basically all of the drivers that I could think of hoping that they would correct this(graphics, chipset, audio) and even flashed my BIOS to the current version for my board.

I'm at a loss here and would like some support so that I don't have to do a fresh install, because I hate having to do that.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
