Windows 10: Windows 10 update 20H2 error 0xc1900101

Hi,

I have had trouble updating from Windows 10 1909 to 2004 and now 20H2. I have been looking for a solution through Microsoft Forums and stumbled upon this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/quick-fixes

I ran sigverif in the Command Prompt and I saw that I had 3 unsigned drivers:

When I looked for these files in my Program Files, I could not find them. Instead of amdkmpfd, I found amdkmafd and the 3 files ending in .ctz, .itz, and .stz

I am not sure if am moving in the right direction but I don't know what to do. I want to update my Windows 10 version.

My desktop has an AMD ryzen 5 1600 six core processor CPU and an RX 580 Series GPU.

Windows 10 Update Error 0xC1900101 - 0x40017

feature update to windows 10 version 20H2 error 0xc1900101

Dear community,

I am getting the 0xc1900101 error for a few month already when trying to update my Windows 10.

I tried with the latest feature update to windows 10 version 20H2 today and the problem still remains.

I tried a lot of solutions found on the internet to solve this issue, but none of them worked:

At about 60% of the update, it fails, and Windows rolls back to its previous version.

Any tip on how to get more insight about this error and find a way on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

 

Unable to upgrade one of the system to Windows 10 Update Error 0xC1900101 - 0x20004

Thank you for the reply. I read both of those threads already.

1. Resetting BIOS. I flashed BIOS to the latest version. Currently running default settings. No change.

2. Andre da Costa brings up a list of reasons. For error 0xC1900101-0x20017 he says refer to error 0xc000021a.

2a. Regarding his troubleshooting steps for error 0xc000021a. He says to wipe the drive and switch from NTFS to GPT. This is incorrect. If this was true, then no one could update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 without a clean install. Beyond which, I updated
my first desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when it was running Windows 7 on NTFS.

2b. Regarding his additional troubleshooting steps for error 0xC1900101-0x20017. He has a number of suggestions, such as disabling peripherals. I tried all of these for both .iso and USB installs. No luck.

Any other suggestions?
