Windows 10: Windows 10 update 20H2

I cannot get Update 20H2 to load on my computer. I am running Windows 10 Education, Version 1909. My system resides on a 1T SSD with better than 80% freespace.


Using the suggestion to use the Media Creation Tool, I got an immediate stoppage with a response of "We couldn't update the system reserved partition". The SSD was formatted and the system loaded without creating any partitions. It is 930.43GB in size with 856.89GB free. I can tell you that by using a partition program I can see that something has created 4 other small partitions that I have no idea where they came from. I've never touched them. They all have a name of '*".


I'm suspecting that it has something to do with the settings of the SSD but I am lost on that one. Any suggestions on loading 20H2?

20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

I doubt it is a glitch. I suspect it was designed that way.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
