Windows 10: Windows 10 update alters word

An elderly acquaintance recently had a windows 10 update he could not avoid, which is ni impossible to prevent as there seems to be no choice attached. When it had finished its update his letters in his documents had changed from white to black and the text white like the reversal on a camera. And when he goes into word and a blank document page it is black and only white text appears. Techies I've talked to don't seem to know what's happened and they claim its a new one on them. As this happened with an update then Microsoft must know what caused it, so we'd like to know how to reverse what the update did and what we do to change it from being in negative mode.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
