Windows 10: windows 10 update and lack of disk? computer? space

I am a normal person with very little computer knowledge beyond paying bills and using Itunes. I have been told by my not quite a year old computer that I don't have enough memory to download Windows 10 update. My husband and I are not gamers, we have about 2000 pictures between us, and we rarely print anything. I have NO idea how to fix this and going into the little corridors and hardware of the computer scares me to death. A regular person should be able to deal with this without taking a year of computer courses!! Please can someone help me in ENGLISH????? I am very frustrated!!!!!

I find it hard to believe that I cannot get a decent answer from a billion dollar corp. and everyone needing help has to "ask the community"? no offense but dang this shouldn't be this hard!!!! Please. help. wandering in desert. gasp.

Disk bloat in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Is it my imagination, or does the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update consume an additional 20-30GB of disk space over the previous Creators Update release? Unfortunately, I didn't log my disk usage before the upgrade, but now my C: drive has 56GB of stuff, and I know it wasn't anywhere near that full before. I've run "Disk Cleanup -> Clean up system files" and selected everything on the list, including remove previous version of Windows. I also emptied my Recycle Bin, my Temp folder, \Windows\Temp folder, and \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Finally, I ran Wise Disk Cleaner to delete assorted application garbage.

Has anyone else noticed the bloat in Fall Creators Update?

 

Laptop will not update due to lack of disk space

Hp laptop 32GB drive, cannot down load updates cannot restore due to lack of memory.

Removed all programs and apps except those preloaded.

Tried to remove windows 7 but is not listed in disk clean up.

Everything I try I get message that I need additional 8gb memory and to delete programs and apps. There is nothing to remove to get additional space.

I currently have 24.2 gb used out of 29.1gb available.

How do I get out off this mess and update to a newer vesion of windows 10

 

Disk space.

Could be the Windows Update Stores files, .old files, shadow copies, etc.

Try running Windows disk clean up with the "Clean up System Files" option.

Delete files using Disk Cleanup <-- Be sure to check out the section at the bottom "To clean up all files on the computer".

How do I remove the Windows.old folder?
