Windows 10: Windows 10 update "brightness" too high

Hi there,

Been struggling with this the last few days since an update I applied on 6th November.

I restarted and the full dynamic range had changed to limited and I had to change it back to full. Unfortunately there still looks to be a light "film" over the screen that makes it look a bit more washed out than it did before.

Changing the brightness weirdly enough doesn't change it, even when running Flux it's like there's a weird hue to the screen that makes it look brighter.

I got my partner to check and she said the screen instantly hurt her eyes and I've had a lot of strain.

What else could have changed to break this? It's pretty debilitating as this machine is also used for working. It must have been a big update as it looks like it created a windows.old.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
