Windows 10 Update did not state/request "check for optional updates"

We are running Windows 10. We "pause" updates so that downloads and installs do not interfere with other things we are doing. When we manually checked for updates yesterday, there were driver and definition updates. However, the usual request "check for optional updates" was not present. We checked in "other updates" and there were no optional updates. But, I thought the request "check for options updates" was always shown on the Windows Update screen. Is this a change to the update process?

    :)

  2. [Windows 10] hide/prohibit install of specific Windows Update

Yeah, there's a lot of Feedback requests for more options (I submitted one as well). Hopefully Microsoft goes back to the Windows Vista/7 way of updating (check box "Hide Update").

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Windows 10 Update did not state/request "check for optional updates"

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
