Windows 10: Windows 10 update error

There is an ongoing issue with my laptop that I have had for the past two or so months;

• Explorer.exe ends up with "token does not exist"
• Settings has the same issue
• Start button and search button on taskbar unresponsive
• thumbnails and icons on desktop and taskbar flicker
• resetting pc with keeping files undoes itself
• almost every service has to be manually turned on after restart
• all files are on explorer however only a certain few (so anything saved from notepad) can be opened
• many games and apps will either not open or not work as they should do

I would really want to know how this happened, and more importantly how to fix it.

PS: This could have happened during an OS update that failed to finish when internet was down.

Hello, I am trying to update from Windows 8 to Windows 10 directly from notifications but I am getting this error after the setup is completed. I am getting this error after: C1900101-30018 Error
