Windows 10: Windows 10 Update Fail - can't update beyond windows 10 home version 1809 build 17763.1282

Hi


Please can someone help as I am close to losing all hope.

I currently have a laptop Intel i5 CPU 2.53GHz 64 bit, 8GB RAM, AMD M540 graphics, 100GB free HD space. Already have the new Edge browser installed.

It is currently running Windows 10 Home version 1809 build 17763.1282

Last 1809 quality update successful KB4023057


I keep getting warnings that this will no longer be supported soon and windows update keeps repeatedly hammering my system 24 hours a day with automatic update attempts that fail while in the meantime making my pc unusable as it takes about 4 hours each attempt only for it to fail at around 90% and spend the next 30 minutes restoring. My hard drive is getting hammered along with my patience.


It is trying to update to "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909" and fails each time with the error Failed to install - 0x80070005


- I have tried completely uninstalling all AV products used their complete removal tool prior to update.

- I have tried cleaning up all windows update files

- I have tried repairing the windows update image

- I have tried windows system file repair

- I have tried burning the Windows 10 1909 update to bootable dvd


Everything fails. What can I do?


I wondered if forcing it to installing the 1903 update first would help? But from what I understand the 1909 update includes the 1903 update and I can't seem to find the standalone 1903 update anymore. Does anyone know the KB number? And if that fails - what else can I try?

Updates fails (Build 17763)

I've not been receiving updates for a few months now. It keeps failing. I have a 1TB M2 drive Samsung magician reports it as good. Could it be related to my key?

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Windows 10 update doesn't work

Is this the only Windows 10 device u have that fails to update?
