Windows 10: Windows 10 Update Fails At 45% After Restart

Hello,
I'm having an issue when trying to update Windows 10. Basically it auto updates and after the computer restarts it tries to install the update and fails every time.The last update I have is the Windows 10 creators update and the current one that is failing to update is update 1709. I've looked around online and tried the various suggestions but nothing seems to be working. I took a screenshot of the error with my phone since it's happening on reboot and after it fails it has to load the previous versions. I tried turning off auto updates but that does nothing it just ignores that and tries to update anyways daily and it takes almost an hour to go through the whole fail and rollback process.





I'm running:

Windows 10 Home 64bit
Intel i5 core i4690k
Board: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z97-A-USB31 Rev 1.xx
8 gig ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
Current Windows version is 1703

I am using lumia 640 from last 6 month, I am trying to update my phone to window 10 but every time it stuck at 45% ans shown same error message (801882cb: internet connectivity after 45%)

I tried restart my phone, reset through window recovery but every time I got failed to update after 45%.

I removed all apps as well as SD card from my phone

using option such as using mobile data for limited wifi connection and having 3G data but nothing help me to update after 45%

Please help me to update my lumia 640 to window mobile 10

To temporarily stop the upgrade you could use this:

Have you followed these basic ideas?
a. Uninstall any 3rd party security software
b. Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals?

Please post a screenshot of your partitions using Minitool Partition Wizard. Make sure text in all columns is visible.

Please download and the 1709 iso so you can save the download time for re-attempts and try manually upgrading without accepting updates.

Please check your disk:
Hard disk sentinel (trial) - post a screenshot.
If ok, from an admin command prompt run
chkdsk c: /scan
- post the summary result
If ok, from an admin command prompt run
sfc /scannow
- post the summary result

Subsequently you will most likely need to post logs.

Quick research on your error message
"windows could not configure one or more system components"
indicates resolving this could be lengthy and uncertain. However, you may be lucky.

 

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Windows is continuously forcing me to update even after stopping it, it just pops it up and starts downloading it again. After reading your post and researching a little more it does seem like this is gonna be an issue and I think I'm just gonna back up all my stuff and reformat my PC and do a fresh Windows 10 install which hopefully will fix the issue. I got Windows 10 through MS upgrade thing so I'm just gonna make a backup and reformat because something else is going on with my PC and this would seem like the easiest way to correct it.

Ok, check your disk before anything else (e.g. Hard Disk Sentinel trial, Crystal Diskinfo (free)).

Once you do get your PC up and running normally- and before you make any changes to configuration or install things- create your base disk image of Windows and then keep a simple text log of changes and update your disk image and suitable intervals.

E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) (other such- Aomei Backupper, Easeus Todo Home, Acronis True Image). Pf these the 1st two are probably better, the first being the most robust and best supported but has the most geeky GUI.

Agreed, but try finding out how to start a differential image ... Aomei Backupper's GUI makes that really easy..

Thanks I'll make sure I do that. Something is definitely wrong with my install because I've backed everything up and am trying to reformat a fresh reinstall but I can't even do that because I'm getting a separate error now for that. This is a bit ridiculous, MS forced me to upgrade to windows 10 and so far it's been complete garbage. I'm not sure whats causing my issues but I did all the stuff suggested to reinstall and it gives me an error saying "an unknown command-line option [/DynamicUpdate] was specified"

**edit** I simply cannot reformat either so I'm currently going through the steps above and will post my information when all is complete**
