Windows 10: Windows 10 Update Gone Wrong?

Hello all! Recently I decided to finally crack open the used windows 7 thinkpad I bought sometime ago. Once I did I immediately ran into constant issues and so I decided to delete everything except for my personal files. I then proceeded to download the media tool off provided by Microsoft. As expected, the installation took a few hours but, I was done by this morning. Everything seemed fine, actually it was running really smooth until it the whole laptop shut down out of no where. I waited to see if it was just a reboot but, I realized that it just turned off. Once I turned on the laptop again I then proceeded to set up and personalize it or at least I attempted to. Every time I tried to open Microsoft edge the app would show up as active in the task bar at the bottom of the screen but, it would not show on the screen. I have rebooted it multiple times and now I cannot use anything. Everything I try to launch does the same exact thing and whenever I try to run anything that is not installed it goes to a faded dark screen that it usually does when you install any kind of application that could potentially make changes to your laptop only, the box that is in the center and gives you the option to accept changes or cancel won't show up either. I have tried to run Powershell as an administrator and it would do the same thing and I would not be able to proceed.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
