Windows 10: Windows 10 update hanging at 91% 3rd time April 2020

I have seen many mentions of this problem , but I have not found an answer. This will be the 3rd time I have unintentionally attempted this update. The first 2 times I was fortunately able to get it to roll back by numerous power cycles. It is only running now because I forgot to re-delay the reboot to prevent it from updating. It has been running now for about 13+ hours.What is a realistic time to allow it to run before killing again? The drive light does quickly flash every 5 -12 seconds.It is a I5 ASUS laptop sitting 3 feet away from the router

Is there some other way I should be updating the version of windows other then the auto updates? to appease the suggestion to update

the version of windows?

Please help , I am sure my luck is running out by doing the forced shut downs and letting it roll back.

I fear it will not come back to an operable state. It is my wife's machine , that would not be good.

April 2020 update

Hi i was wondering if microsoft is gonna release the april 2020 update in april or may?

 

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

 

Microsoft blocks Windows 10 April Update for Intel SSD 600p Series

Microsoft is blocking some Intel SSDs from installing the April 2018 Update after discovering an incompatibility issue that causes performance and stability issues. In short, the problem was explained by Microsoft as: “When attempting to upgrade to Window 10 April 2018 Update select devices with certain Intel SSDs may enter a UEFI screen reboot or crash repeatedly.” Microsoft says that this issue has no workaround and that those that have attempted to update Windows 10 to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update should revert back to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709.

Unfortunately, the announcement by Microsoft fails to list what specific Intel SSD models are having issues with the OS update. We contacted Intel and discovered that the Intel SSD 600p Series of client drives that was first introduced to the market in 2016 is the most popular drive that is having issues.
