Windows 10: Windows 10 Update has added red X and green ticks on all my documents - is this related to...

Hi I've updated windows 10 and I think it's brought back those annoying OneDrive ticks and X's on all my documents and folders. I'm assuming the ticks are for documents that have been backed up to my OneDrive.


I remember having these ticks and Xs when I first installed windows 10 and it was linked to OneDrive. I de-activated it back then but can't figure out how to do it this time. Any ideas?

Missing documents & green checks & red x's

When I opened my laptop tonight, Windows was running an automatic update. When the update completed, the majority of my folders and documents were gone and green check marks or red X's appeared on the corner of the icons for the few documents that remained.
I was able to recover a few of my docs from the recycle bin, but most are still missing. I restored my computer and the files are still missing. How do I find my files? Oh, and I am using Windows 10.

 

Red crosses and green ticks on photo files.

why do some photo files have red crosses and some have green ticks on them. This is a relatively new thing on my laptop, All of my photos (1000s of them) now have either red crosses or green ticks. I dont use Onedrive or Google Drive but I do use Google
photos. im pretty sure they have all been synced from on to the other. Thanks.

 

Red 'X' in status column

In the status column in my documents several of the files have a red x instead of a green tick. This means that when i open the file it does not open properly and says 'upload blocked' and asks me to save another copy of this document.

What can I do to change this?
