Windows 10: Windows 10 Update hell

Just was curious if anybody could direct me to resources to help solve my windows 10 update issue.

Before I get into it.

I've formatted my computer 14 times now, including Zero formatting. I do have a legit copy of windows 10, no viruses, no 3rd party programs, no anti viruses or fire walls to cause issues, have a good knowledge of fixing computers for 10 years. I've also never had any issues with windows 10 ever, until this past month. Laptop Alienware 13r2 model.



The past 3 weeks now, I keep getting the "working on updates, Don't turn off your computer " It will reach various % of completion, then say your updates could not be resolved , restoring older settings " this god damn thing can be up to 1:30 hours to over 5 hours, various lengths each time. When I am able to get back into Windows, I run updater to check for issues, it never shows any issues, there is a few updates on that list that do say fail, but I can't do anything about it, besides re-download it, manually but it will still fail it never makes a difference, I can't seem to block the updates from trying to take place no matter what on my computer restarting, I can't waste 2-5 hours every god damn day on this.

I've formatted my pc countless times 14 or so now including zero formatting it, this issue always comes back after 1 or so days after formatting. I called Alienware/Dell about this for support, they told me there is nothing they can do, and to blame microsoft for this non-sense, they did try via working on my pc with deskstop share, they tried the same things as I did to try deleting the updates and redownloading them. I can't trouble shoot it any further, i've tried everything.

This is a gaming pc, never connects online generally, I don't want the udpates or security patches, I dont care about any of that what so ever, but of course after formatting I need to download drivers and things for the games, so the god damn windows is always downloading those updates it seems, even after I tell it not to do any updates.

What on earth can I do?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
