Windows 10: Windows 10 Update Issue and No Audio

Howdy, I've been having some issues that I've tried working through for the past few days. It started with my audio going out and the troubleshooter saying that an audio service wasn't working. I checked and out of "Windows Audio" and "Windows Audio End Point Builder," it said that "Windows Audio" wasn't running. It wouldn't allow me to restart it or change anything about the service.

I checked my updates to see if I had any to install that could help, and I had a few. When I tried downloading them, it would stay at 0% and then go to either "Download Pending" or " Install Pending." It won't allow me to refresh it and check for updates again, so the only way that I've really found to check for updates again is to restart my laptop. After I try to download the updates again, it goes back to "Download Pending" or " Install Pending." I've also tried changing active hours to see if that would help, but it crashes settings when I try to save it. I've also tried running the "Windows Update Troubleshooter" which said that there was an issue and that it may have fixed it. It doesn't seem like anything has changed after restarting the laptop and checking for updates again. I also tried forcing the updates through the command prompt. I don't know if I did it wrong, but nothing happened.

I've done my best to make sure that all my drivers are up to date, and to my knowledge, they are. I even uninstalled and reinstalled ones that could help the issue.

I tried restoring the laptop to a recovery point, but I didn't have any.

As a last ditch effort to fix it, I attempted to reset the laptop and keep my files. After trying this, it said that it failed and nothing was changed. I tried this one more time with the same result. I also attempted to reset it with clearing the files and the same problem occurred.

Any help would be appreciated as it feels like I've tried everything to fix this issue.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
