I have windows 10 installed on my laptop and I got an update that my version of windows 10 needs update. I did the update, and since then

my laptop is stuck in a retstart loop.


Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 305

when I switch on the laptop, the Lenovo logo appears, but windows logo doesn't. It then loops into the next screen showing the sad face: your device ran into a problem and needs restart. We are just collecting some error info and then We will restart for you. A barcode is also displayed, blue background, and it runs through a percentage from 0% up to 100%, Stop code: PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA.

Preparing automatic repair is then displayed, and goes back to the start of the loop.


I have tried a few troubleshooting like trying to start up in safe mode, by pressing f8 on the keyboard, repeatedly but safe mode doesn't come up.

I have tried switching on, switching off, switching on, 3 times, expecting safe mode but it doesn't come up. Instead, its constantly repeating the same loop as in the first paragraph. Its done this up to 30 times.


The only other window I can access is by pressing F2 on the keyboard , InsydeH20 setup utility window is displayed. I don't know if I can do anything in this window,

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....
