Windows 10: Windows 10 Update KB4462919 1803 Breaks HPs AMD Video Drivers as Usual Due to PCI Bus Driver

HP hasn't updated its AMD Video drivers for my Pavillion 17 V0Q20UA AMD Laptop since 2017


The ONLY driver that works is in the SP77768 package from HP. Nothing else from Microsoft or AMD will work on this laptop and a similar situation is probably true for ANY laptop with dual graphics.


The problem is that pretty much every Windows update overwrites something installed by SP77768 and breaks much of the graphics capabilities of this laptop and causes issues with the PCI bus resulting in a warning at every boot that the PC needs restarting.


Every single time the user must:


Go to the device manage and uninstall the PCI bus, reboot and suffer

Then reinstall SP77768 and suffer

Hope for the best

Suffer with probable security issues with having a 3 year old drivers on your system

Windows 10 PCI and SM Bus Controller drivers.

I recently bought a new desktop, and everything's been running fine, except I noticed this issue:

Upon going into my devices and printers, there's a little troubleshooting triangle next to my desktop's symbol, so I troubleshooted it, told me PCI and SM Bus Controller had no drivers. And I can't seem to find out where/how to download these drivers and
neither can my computer.

Running Windows 10 with a Nvida GeForce GTX 1060 with all the latest drivers on everything else.

Here are the codes I get in device manager under hardware:

PCI: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A324&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_10

SM Bus Controller: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A323&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_10

Another thing to note is that this issue has not affected my performance at all and is just a small problem I'd like to get out of the way.

Windows 10 update deletes video drivers

Twice in the past 2 weeks a Windows 10 update has deleted my AMD Radeon video driver and also disabled my Intel video driver and replaced it with a barely functioning Windows "generic driver" that has the wrong screen resolution.

How can I stop this? It's getting annoying to have to reinstall my video drivers every week.

I tried "Download the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package now."

But it is poorly designed. You can only see part of the list of drivers because the window can't be resized and it appears there are only a few drivers on the list anyway, mostly PCI and USB. Then it won't let me change anything due to "permission" issues,
but the "change permissions" window is buggy and has no "save" button.
