Windows 10: Windows 10 Update KB4592438 Error code 0x800f081f and 0x8024200d

I have tried to install this update KB4592438 many times but it failed with error code 0x800f081f every time.

So I decided to download the stand alone package from Microsoft Update Catalog to install it manually, but this time I faced with an error code 0x8024200d instead.


Previously, around 2-3 weeks ago, I got this error code 0x800f081f with a preview...something update, too.


I am using Windows 10 home.

What I have tried so far.

- Turn on .NET Framework 3.5

- run chkdsk c: and sfc /scannow, these two command report no error.

This error code seems to have something to do with .Net Framework 3.5 since the inception of Windows 8.0 and 8.1. Read on...

don't worry about the link above (403 forbidden); it works. The reason is probably because the web page wanted me to unblocks (whitelist) via the ad blockers.

Is the same if you install the MSU instead of via Windows Update?

 

Windows 10 Update error code 0x8024200D.

The error code definition says:

0x8024200D

WU_E_UH_

NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD

The installer requires more data to be downloaded.

I would suggest downloading the MSU and do an offline install:

If that installs successfully, then our next step would be to watch out for the updates releasing next Tuesday to narrow out if it was an error with the update itself.
