    Windows 10 Update Nukes Itself

Hey all. I recently updated to the newest version of Windows 10 available to me about an hour ago from a pre-existing windows 10 version. The version numbers I am unable to recall. However, upon reboot during the update, the Preparing Automatic Repair or however way around those words go appears. I'm sent to the blue screen of boot repair. I've exhausted every option, save for a refresh or a reset, which I would really really like to avoid. Startup Repair does nothing. Attempting to Uninstall the updates responds with a failure to do so. I've already tried the bootrec commands. And repairing from a USB drive, failed miserably. I will note that the bootrec /scanos responded with 0 os installations found and 1 os found when I'm running repair off my recovery USB, which corresponds with the USB itself. This leads me to conclude, as the question title suggests, that the Windows Update Defcon 1ed my entire OS i.e. the update destroyed Windows beyond repair. I really have no one else but myself to blame here, because I do have a 4 TB external HDD I use to back up my computer. But since I've moved for this semester, I've been too lax with my backups, causing me to be in this position and hopefully I'll learn from this, one way or another.

Thank you guys for all your help in advance, and hopefully one of you guys that are way smarter and wiser than me can help me resolve this without losing data or programs.

P.S: This was written at 2:30 AM, so I apologize for any grammar mistakes or overlooked important artifacts of information that I failed to report

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
