Windows 10: Windows 10 update on 9/15/2022 broke USB ports FIX

I installed the update yesterday before work and when I came home none of my USB ports worked after Windows loaded. I have booted into safe mode and tried uninstalling the last update which didn't work. I am trying a restore point on 9/13/2022 as I type this.This did work. So if your USB ports stop working after the update, you're going to have to use a restore point. Hope it works for you as well.

Method 2: Update USB controllers.

• Right click on the Start menu and select Device Manager from the list.

KB5015807 disabled two usb ports

After pushing off 2022-06 because it broke ICS. I finally updated to 2022-07 because it fixes the ICS issue and now two of my usb ports that I had my keyboard and mouse connected to do not work. What is going on over there? This is getting insane! Will the next update just break everything?

 

Fix usb ports on Windows 10

Has anyone been able to fix their usb ports on Windows 10? I've read the posts and Microsoft's canned comment, went through their steps, and still the usb ports will not work.

Has anyone found a solution?
