Windows 10: Windows 10 update prevents reboot

Discus and support Windows 10 update prevents reboot in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Prompted to restart desktop for Windows 10 updates. Computer now will not reboot.     Windows 10 update prevents reboot


    Prompted to restart desktop for Windows 10 updates. Computer now will not reboot. I do not have a boot disk/software. What other actions can I take?

    Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

    Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

    Windows Update - Prevents Appliations from Loading

    Update KB4015217 currently preventing a number of applications in our environment from loading.

    We have to perform the following steps to get the applications to run:

    Uninstall Windows Update KB4015217

    • Windows Update
    • Update History
    • Uninstall Update
    Reboot

    Run the “Windows Update Hide Tool”

    Hide update KB4015217
