    Windows 10 update put my computer into demo mode


    I just updated my computer today after it forced an update and it logged me in as Darrin DeYoung and I have been unable to log into my old account or turn demo mode off. My Computer has worked fine for the past 2 years until now and I still have everything on my hard drive and my previous account still exists but I was wondering if there's anyway I can fix this?

    I am backing all my stuff up onto another hard drive just in case It decides to delete everything in the meantime.

    Update to Windows 10 sent computer back into Demo Mode

    The update to Windows 10 sent the computer back into a Demo Mode and "hid" all of my files. I had bought the computer from a store as an open box. Its now in Demo Mode and I'm locked out of admin and can't get to any of my files saved under my own user
    account. Any suggestions?

    Update to Windows 10 sent computer back into Demo Mode

    What we've figured out after over 8 hours of being on hold and talking to 6 Microsoft help desk support techs (that can only follow scripts) and then the computer being at a Microsoft store for 3 days--

    Windows 10 has a retail demo mode. During the upgrade it deleted all other user accounts and put the computer into its demo mode. Only some of the data has been recovered and the computer was sent to Seagate.

    Retail Demo Change? Not Going into Demo Mode

    Hey Ramon,

    Sorry this took me a while to get back to, the Windows version on both machines is Version 1703 Build 15063.674. Neither machine will go into demo mode or play the demo reel.

    I did just get another Laptop in running Version 1607 build 14393.351 - and attempted to put it in demo mode. It went straight to demo mode and started playing the demo reel without issue. I do think the issue could be version related, but I'd like to know
    what I need to do for the new version to get it into demo mode.

    As for What SpiritX said, I'm not looking to put the device in Kiosk mode. Kiosk mode is only supported by Pro and Enterprise and non of the devices I've set up this way were Pro or Enterprise editions of Win 10. Aside from that I haven't been able to find
    any posts on TechNet referring the demo issue I'm experiencing.
