Windows 10: Windows 10 update ruined computer

My PC has been trying to update to Windows 10 for months now. It is never successful and I have to wait while it has to undo changes. I tried to stop the update but it always tried to update every few days. Last Thursday it tried to update again but this time my PC cannot recover. It flashes the windows logo for 5 seconds then says undoing changes for 1 second then says attempting to recover for 1 second then goes to a black screen for 1 second then goes to the computer name screen for 2 seconds and then the loop starts over again. It has been looping for 4 days straight. Software shouldn't cause a hardware issue but it obviously has.... During the 2 seconds that the computer name screen flashes, it says hit delete to enter set up. I have tried that but I don't know what to do while there. Any help would be appreciated.

I will gladly dispose of any "ruined computer" that Windows 10 has "ruined". Just ship them to me and I will take care of disposing of the "ruined" hardware!

I haven't had to face that problem with any of my PCs yet. (Touch wood. [Old pagan ritual to avoid bad luck.])

You may ultimately have to re-install Windows, but I hope that someone can offer a less painful fix.

A suggestion: "Windows 10 update ruined my computer" sounds like a ranting post. There are many helpful people here, but they respond better to requests for help than to complaints.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
