Windows 10: Windows 10 update to november pack issue

Hello everyone my name is Catalin and I have a big problem. On de 1 January i recive a gift. A tablet Mediacom w700 with 16gb internal memory 1gb ram procesor Intel quad core 1.83 slot microsd and just 1 micro usb port for charging tablet or use otg cable to connect usb. At last 10 days I try ed to update to the new version of Windows but unfortunately I recive errors insufficient space on c: . I have 1 microSD 32gb and 1 flash memory 16gb 2 in 1 micro usb. My question is. Someone has upgraded a tablet with 16gb memory? Last night my tablet successful make the new update pack. But not November pack. A update who for me don't have sense because is a fix for 1511 version. But I don't have and idk how can help me that. I have windows 10 build 10260

I installed Media Feature Pack, but Media Player and the MTP drivers are nowhere to be found

Turns out that I've been installing the Media Pack for Windows 10 Pre-November update version.

The correct pack for those who have done the November update is this one:

Windows Media Pack Problems

If you are running Windows 10 November Update, you need to install the latest version of the Media Feature Pack.

To confirm if the Windows 10 November Update is installed:

Press Windows key + R

type: winver

Hit Enter on your keyboard

On the About dialog, look for 10586

If you see it, you need to install the latest Media Feature Pack:

There is a major issue with 10586 on 16GB tablets, as you do not have enough memory to do an upgrade from 10240 to 10586, and the ability to use a usb card as scratch space during the clean install does not work (did work when upgrading from 7/8 to 10 - 10240). Why you can no longer do it is a complete mystery.

You have to have around 8GB free, which is virtually impossible on a 16GB tablet, and not that easy even on a 32 GB tablet.

Basically, all you can do is a clean install, and reinstall all your programs again.


Even then, you have to make sure you have exported all your 3rd party drivers to a usb stick, as tablets often have special drivers not in the standard MS iso (typically rotation sensor, touch screens, camera etc).

Yiou can export drivers from windows 10 using this guide (works for 10 as well as 8.1).

Thanks. But was with windows 10 on the first start. I don`t install nothing... Just some small update via Windows Update. They posted 1 fix. But don`t work. All files downloaded via Windows Update ware corrupt. You can see the log report. Another change i don`t have to update them ? To make a fresh install i need mouse +USB ? because i have just 1 slot ... and battery rezist just 2-3 hours ...

The issue is updating a 16GB tablet from windows 10 version 10240 to windows 10 version 10586. It is, as I explained, virtually impossible to upgrade. Only a clean install will work.

You will need a usb mouse, keyboard, usb hub (preferably powered), usb stick with version 10586, and (assuming a micro usb slot) an OTG cable.

If you download windows 10 to usb stick first, then if you make sure tablet is fully charged before you reinstall, it will be fine.

Note- you need to check if your current version of windows 10 is 32bit or 64bit and download the same type.

One good thing about version 10586 is allows you to install apps to the sd card whcih helps with limited space.

I would create usb stick from media creation tool.

2 hours is plenty of time to upgrade on battery power (recommend you create usb stick on another pc - if not, do it on tablet, then recharge tablet). Most tablets will not charge and transfer data at same time if only a single usb port.

Also, STRONGLY advise you create a usb recovery stick of current installation first.

Control Panel, Recovery, Create Recovery Drive, and check box to copy system files.

Also making an image backup using Macrium Reflect Free is a good idea.

Finally, make sure you know your windows 10 key. Pretty sure it is embedded in bios, but worth exctacting anyway.

Ok. Problem solved. You need just 1 USB memory with 16gb and free space on C: 3.21 gb. I started this with just 3.22gb on c:
If you don't have space. You cannot make nothing. If you have 2.44 free on c: start delete some folder microsoft app....
First start searching on Google how you can dezactivate hibernation. Just one command in cmd run administrator (I lost that command). Trust me it is if you don't see on shut down menu hibernation option. It is activated and don't show like hidden folder. Idk how many space have but sufficient .
Let your tablet at charg and search for update. When you recive first error for not enough space 14gb insert stick. Let's to make that download . After you will recive another error. Not enough space. Need 10gb free drive. Now it's time to take off USB stick and put on charge. Wait until 100% take out and put again USB . It wasn't formated ntfs.just fat 32. I selected again usb and start installing process.
