    Windows 10 update to version 1909 fails over and over


    My dell laptop has version 1809 and it works fine. The update to version 1909 has failed over and over again. I have tried many suggestions I found here but nothing works. At the end when the computer restarts I get a blue screen which says at the end "system thread extension not handled." As an aside, this screen flashes on for about 15 seconds. If I'm supposed to get useful information from it, why doesn't it stay on long enough to read it and write it down?


    I'm very tired of trying to fix this. I don't really need or want new "features". Is there any downside from ignoring the demands from the computer to update to version 1909?

    constantly getting the message that the update to Windows 10, Version 1909 fails. Detailed message:

    • Funktionsupdate für Windows 10, Version 1909
    • Fehler bei der Installation am ‎11.‎04.‎2020 – 0x8007001f
    I couldn't find a solution in the community, yet. Thus I'm asking for support.

    More info about my update Windows 10...

    1. Last Wednesday 22 january I've updated Windows 10 from version 1803 to 1809 with success ...
    2. Last Monday 27 january I've updated Windows 10 from version 1809 to 1909 with status failed ...
    3. Yesterday evening, I tried to update Windows 10 from version 1809 to 1903 and the result is failed like previous.

    These 3 operatins made on the same computer.

    So my question is:

    What differences between version 1803,1809 versus 1903,1909 that the update failed with two last versions ?

    I recommend you to upgrade to V1909 via ISO file.
