My PC recently updated automatically. After a reboot, I wasn't able to boot anymore. It shows the Recovery Screen telling me a File is missing. Pressing F1 to boot into recovery has no effect. There are two Windows 10 installations on my system, both on SSD Drives (so no, probably not a Drive Failure). I booted into my 2nd Windows install without any problems. I wanted to copy over the missing file, but quickly realised that there is nothing left on my drive. Not even a single folder on the root directory. Explorer shows that the drive is pretty full, as you can see from the screenshots, but theres nothing inside when you actually click on it. My guess is that theres something going on with those two Windows installations, but i am not sure. But, the first goal would be to recover the data, because thats more important to me Windows 10 Update wiped everything on my drive - fails to boot :D

Edit: Some information here about my System

Windows version (on the D: Drive): 1909 (can't check)

Windows version (on the C: Drive): 20H2 (19042.804)

    This system isn't prebuilt!

I am new here. If I should post this on r/TechSupport rather than here, tell me!

  3. Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
