Windows 10: Windows 10 update wont let me open an app

i just did an update for my device after restarting it, i restarted it because i changed my VRAM from 128mb to 512mb, i wanted to run an app better. after restarting my laptop i tried to open the app and it wouldnt open. i pressed it and it a blue bar showed up next to the cursor for maybe a millisecond and after that nothing else. this is affecting 2 apps: Steam and Dead by Daylight the game i was trying to open

does anyone have a fix for this? thanks

Windows Wont Let Me Update Driver

Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Yes, I am using a free version of driver easy. Your instructions helped.

Previously, I was just providing the location and clicking next here:




As you suggested, I clicked on "let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and "Have disk" and that helped.

I did get a nice warning but I ignored it and clicked next.





Audio seems okay, except "Realtek Audio Console" app doesn't work on my windows 10 anymore. I will probably uninstall this driver. But thanks heaps for your help.

To assist you better regarding your concern, we suggest that you run the Windows built-in troubleshooter. Follow these steps:

• Press the Windows icon, then type in Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click View all.
• Look for Windows store apps, then follow the prompt and finish the troubleshooter.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
