Windows 10: Windows 10 Update

My 1 yr old laptop was working fine untilthe most recent update. It now takes at least 30 minutes to get to the signon screen. I idles on “please wait” and finally after 30 min or sow brings me to thr sign on screen. Sign on process takes another 30 min or so “welcome” then followed by “preparing windows”. This brings me to a blank desktop with no functionality besides CMD and the task manager. I have tried rebooting it in safe mode, running sfc scan, and restoring it to a previous point and nothing. Thanks microsoft. My $1700 laptop is now useless. Please help. This is so frustrating that these updates create such chaos even amongst new machines.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
