Windows 10: Windows 10 Update

I recently started using my desktop after a long period of not using it and I have had to update it repeatedly to try and get to the latest update this is better than Windows 7 crashing because it's trying to download every update ever made all at once. The update process was smooth enough as it downloaded in the background and restarted overnight, however at one point windows update told me I had to delete VMware Player in order to install the next windows update. I have been on the support site and found someone with the same problem; Microsoft's solution was to update their copy of VMware Workstation Pro, but unfortunately I have the free version meant for non-commercial use and the only update available is an upgrade to VMware Workstation Pro. It would be great if I could get an explanation on what part of VMware is conflicting with the update so I can fix it and don't have to make copies of my VMs until VMware updates their free version of the VMware Player.


I am using Windows 10 Pro upgraded from copy of Windows 8.1 Pro purchased on disc.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
