  1. Windows 10 updates 1903 crashed while updating now unable to boot in Windows

    Hi everybody,

So my issue is weird, I started by looking on the forum for similar issues, but I could find anything related. Nothing recent in 2019-2020

Yesterday I was watching a movie on my computer, then I received a message advising that my computer will log out to install updates. I didn't have any choices, so after few minutes, it restarted.

Since the update always crash my pc 1903 I always stop it, cause I know it will crash at 56%.

So on every updates from this point, I force the stop. Usually, Windows does a roll back and I'm back to Windows. Until the next time it does the updates, every 10 or 11 days

This time, the computer restarted, start the Windows loading I see the dots circling then I see unroll... then a white frame shows quickly and restart the computer. After 3 times, it does not start the windows repair/safemode. It keeps restarting and end no where.

I really wants to ovoid the re-installation.

I removed the hard disk from my desktop and I plugged it into my laptop, I don't see the Windows folder, instead, I have a Windows10Update folder with two files in it: 18362.175.190612-0046.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-us and this : 18362.175.190612-0046.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-us.esd_.

I tried to repair it from my laptop, but it didn't fix the issue. I believe that my last alternative would replace the hard disk with the one inside my laptop and start a repair with a USB that I took from my office. Since I have a valid key but no CD. I hope this is going to work, I cross my fingers...

My other option is taking my old HDD to reconnect on my computer I made a clone in January on a SSD but there is a huge gap missing until today.

Otherwise, do you know what I could do if none of this works? Still trying to ovoid the re-installation

    :)

  3. Windows XP Error: Could not Boot after update

repairing windows will just fix any damaged files, id suggest taking off your over clocking settings the try booting in, maybe when you updated you also updated some censoring device which is now causing you a problem with your over clock settings.

Windows 10 updates 1903 crashed while updating now unable to boot in Windows

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
