Windows 10: Windows 10 updates always throttles my loptop fan excessively - Bring back real control of...

Every time I'm am forced to accept a Windows 10 update I have to spend 3days trying everything to stop it throttling the fans in my laptop. I have foolishly taken the advice from people to update drivers and then spent hours restoring the old drivers. I do not permit Windows 10 to update drivers for my hardware anymore - I go to the laptop manufacturer for their advice. Each time I've ended up uninstalling the updates and then, thanks to Windows 10 forced updates, I have to repeat the whole thing over and over again - you could say I'm over it!I already have a security, anti virus, anti mal

Maximum throttle all the time

For the last week or so, my throttle seems to be stuck at full power, no matter what I do with my throttle lever. I am using a TWCS for my throttle and a VKB Gladiator NXT for my joystick. If I reduce the throttle, the engine slows down for a moment, then
goes back to full power. This is annoying as heck.

I've set up several profiles for both of my controllers. After the latest update, any effort to change profiles causes the game to crash. Fan...frakkking...amazing.

Any suggestions?

 

Fan control for 4870X2 broken in 1.17

Fixed fan controls yes. Annoying profiles yes. Buggy code yes.

I'd rather just set it and forget it as the feature list of RBE suggested it was capable of doing.

 

Utility for laptop fan control?

Note that, depending on your laptop, any direct control of the fan may not be possible. I suggested the one above as it seems aimed at laptops in particular- but I've not tried it.

E.g. Speedfan lists no fan on my Thinkpad.

Ok, I've now tried NoteBook FanControl for you.
It has preset configurations for different machines: e.g.




which for my t440s gives




- whereas Speedfan didn't seem to achieve anything, I'm afraid. Presumably you looked at the config editor...
