Windows 10: Windows 10 updates and subsequent router/modem issues

I have Windows 10 Professional 64bit, and every time there is a Windows automatic update, my router/modem stops functioning. I try a "reset" following the instructions from Verizon FiOS who supplies the router/modem branded as Verizon Model G1 100, and then I try another of their instructions when that doesn't work, by disconnecting the power source and reconnecting after 30 seconds. Sometimes I go through these procedures two or three times before the router/modem becomes operational again. It is obvious to me, at least something in Windows 10 is causing this problem. Windows update issues

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

 

Wireless cable modem/router/firewall

can someone recommend me a wireless router with built in cable modem. Most of the devices ive seen are equiped with ADSL modems!

Unable to access the Admin page of my modem router since latest Windows 10 update

Since I updated the latest Win 10 update, I am unable to access my modem router's admin page. I previously never had any problems logging to the admin page. I took the extra step of uninstalling my antivirus/firewall program and logging in to no effect.
I can access the internet and have no issues in viewing any website. The only time I have been able to access the modem router admin page since the last Windows 10 update is when I start windows in Safe Mode with networking. Refer message below:

Firewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection.

• Checking firewall and antivirus configurations
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics

ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

Check your Internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems or other network devices you may be using.

Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.

If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
