Windows 10: Windows 10 updates and Windows 11 upgrade causes loss of internet connectivity - how to fix?

For several months I have had an issue where every time Windows Update installs a regular Win10 update my PC loses the ability to connect to the internet. Both my fixed and wireless connections show "Connected, no internet". Everything else in the house on the same networks can connect to the internet OK. I tried all the usual troubleshooting steps reset network, flush DNS etc. with no success. The workaround I discovered was to uninstall the most recent update installed by Windows Update and restart; at that point the internet came back. I then had to pause automatic Windows Update becaus

Upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 and losing internet connection

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Also, check in the "Device Manager" to see if the network adapter is ok.
You may need to un-install it and then "Scan for new devices".

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.
