  1. Windows 10 updates break my computer's internet capacity

Earlier today, the latest compulsory update of Windows 10 broke my computer’s ability to connect to the internet: after the update, my wifi was dead, and it remained dead despite any of the fixes or trouble-shooting I tried. This is especially annoying since the very same thing happened three months ago. Both times, I was only able to get back online by using the recovery function on Windows to revert to a previous version of the operating system.

Needless to say, I’m tired of having the new features of Windows 10 function like a virus to dismantle my computer’s essential functionality. I also now live in fear of Window’s next update, knowing that it may hijack my computer at the worst possible time.

I am asking here the same questions that I asked Microsoft three months ago--questions that Microsoft chose to ignore:

    • Is Microsoft aware that its latest update is disabling computers like mine HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-bp1xx, with an Intel® Core™ i7 processor: 8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz? If so, is Microsoft actively working to prevent this problem?
    • Is there any way I can solve this problem other than by reverting to a previous version of Windows?
    • Until Microsoft fixes this glitch in its latest version, is there a way I can prevent Windows 10 from automatically updating on my computer?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
