Windows 10: Windows 10 updates caused errors in Quicken 2016 mondo update patches

Hi- I have installed quicken 2016 mondo patches at an earlier Windows 10 version ;and they worked. Now, with several Windows 10 updates later, I try to install the Mondo updates on another Windows 10 machine, and I get the patch error: " unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load. " Further it says: "index and length must refer to a location within the string, Parameter name: length.' I searched for a fix and it was on the quicken site which I tried and it did not work. It suggested I create a new administrator user on my windows system. I did and it did not work. I do not

Quicken 2016 and Windows 10

I have been using Quicken 2016 Deluxe for several months now and had no issues even when I upgraded to Windows 10...until the anniversary update that was forced on me. Since then, Quicken will start to open and then immediately close with no error messages.
I just spent over 6 hours on the phone with Quicken tech support and they say it is an issue with Windows.

I have done all of the uninstall/reinstall, safe mode install, mondo patch, qcleanui.exe, password reset, R 9 install, R 8 install, and several other attempts to get Quicken working in Windows 10 with no success.

Yes, Quicken was installed before W 10 was, but has since been uninstalled and reinstalled countless times with no success.

I am reluctant to perform a Clean Boot as it removes all apps and is not sure to solve the initial problem.

Also, I frequently need to boot from my repair disc since the anniversary update when the computer freezes with black screens and the white juggling balls. Not sure if they are tied together in any way.

Any suggestions?

 

Quicken 2016 installation problems in Windows 10 64bit

I had issues with the update not completing also. If you go to help, check what Release you have (probably R2). The new release is R 6. Follow the instructions on this post.
